On May 4, 2022, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to CAMC Women and Children’s Division to investigate a four-month-old patient with suspicious injuries. The infant was determined to have fractured ribs and several other bone fracture consistent with being abused. Detectives learned from the child’s mother that Brandon Blevins (32), the child’s father, had been observed being too rough with the child. Blevins admitted to detectives he had been “a little too rough” with his child. On May 18, 2022, Kanawha County detectives along with Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies located and arrested Brandon Blevins in Danville, West Virginia. Blevins was arraigned by a Boone County magistrate and granted a $10,000.00 cash only bond. He has been charged with child neglect causing injury, but as is always, he is presumed innocent unless or until he is found to be guilty in the court process.
