UPDATE: 3/20/2023 – Sergeant J.A. Ratliff, the lead investigator in this case has located the vehicle and driver involved in the Sissonville Walgreen’s, leaving the scene incident from March 7, 2023. Multiple “tips” were sent into the sheriff’s office which led Sergeant Ratliff to a residence in Sissonville, where the truck was located. Sergeant Ratliff found the truck to have damage consistent with the evidence left at the original scene. The owner of the vehicle was a 68-year-old male of Sissonville and was identified as the driver during the leaving the scene incident on March 7th. The male provided deputies with valid vehicle, driver, and insurance information, which was exchanged with the victim. The male claimed to be unaware that he had caused any damage to the other vehicle and the victim decided not to pursue any criminal charges against him.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office along with victim of this incident, would like to thank the public for sharing this information and providing “tips” which ultimately led deputies to locating the vehicle and driver.

Sissonville, WV- Deputies are currently looking for a suspect and a vehicle that was involved in a leaving the scene crash in Sissonville on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Sergeant J.A. Ratliff, the lead investigator, took a report from a Walgreen’s employee who stated that her vehicle was parked in the Walgreen’s parking lot, when a gray Ford Ranger pulled onto the lot around 5:30 p.m., and “t-boned” her vehicle. The suspect and the vehicle were last scene traveling south on Route 21 (Sissonville Drive) towards Charleston.
Video surveillance shows the suspect’s vehicle to be an older model, gray, Ford Ranger extended cab pickup truck with a step-side bed. Deputies believe the truck to be around the 2004 model year or similar. The pickup should have damage to the front bumper and/or surrounding areas.
It was determined by deputies that the suspect was traveling south on Route 21 (Sissonville Drive) prior to the crash, around the 5:30 p.m. time frame, and then continued south towards Charleston after the crash. Deputies request that if you have any information on the whereabouts of this vehicle, the identity of the driver, or if you have any video surveillance that may have captured this vehicle during that time frame, to please contact Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
