On February 17, 2014 the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office STOP (Sheriff’s Tactical Operations Patrol) Team followed up on tips received through the department’s meth tip line. Information from an earlier tip indicated Eric Toon was involved in the drug trade and was operating at 114 Roane Street, Charleston, Kanawha County WV. An investigation was conducted during which probable cause was developed to obtain a search warrant. The search warrant was executed at the property on Roane Street on February 17, 2014.
During the execution of the search warrant a .45 auto pistol was found, as was a small quantity of marijuana. Mr. Toon was at the residence. He is a convicted felon.
Mr. Toon was arrested, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was taken to South Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Toon are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Attached is a mug shot taken during Mr. Toon’s arrest on February 17, 2014.
