Parent Arrested in Meth Lab

The mother of a 4 month old child was arrested Thursday night after Deputies discovered she and her boyfriend James Triplett were making methamphetamine in the back bedroom of a home at 649 Hawes Drive in Malden.
Chelsey Hancock age 22 was placed under arrest for Conspiracy to Operate a Clandestine Drug Lab, Exposure of Meth to First Responders, Exposure of Meth to Children, and Child Neglect with Risk of Injury. A warrant for James Triplett was issued as well for the same charges.
 
Deputies went to 649 Hawes Drive just after 11:00pm and during their investigation discovered an active meth lab in the back bedroom of the home. Deputies described a smoky vapor emitting from a clear plastic bottle along with many other items used in the manufacturing of meth. Chelsey Hancock was arrested on the scene and taken to the South Central Regional Jail. Her 4 month old baby was released to family members. Triplett fled the scene during officers’ arrival.
 
Nine Motor Vehicle Inspection Stickers were also recovered during the investigation and are believed to be stolen.
