On August 20, 2015 Deputy K. T. Carte of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched by Metro 911 to a lot in the 6200 block of Sissonville Drive in Sissonville, WV. Construction equipment was stolen from the site overnight, between 6:00 p.m. on August 19 and 8:00 a.m. on August 20.
On Monday, August 25, 2015 two men entered the Kanawha Valley Fine Jewelry and Loan to pawn some of the stolen tools. Deputy Carte had already told employees at area pawn shops to be on the lookout for some of the items. The clerks at the store called him, but the suspects left before he arrived.
