In the early morning hours of February 1, 2016, Deputy J. Yost of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an address on Villa Pike in Cross Lanes, WV.  Metro 911 received notice of a burglary alarm at a house.  The residents were not at home.

Deputy Yost arrived and saw the garage door was open and evidence a car was driven from the garage.  He and Corporal J. Ratliff, Deputy J. Miller, and Deputy Miller’s K9 partner Max searched the house.

The home had been burglarized.  The basement door was forcibly opened, items were stolen, and a blue, 2014 Honda Civic was stolen.  The license plate for the Civic is WV 1MR644.

Attached is a video from the homeowner’s surveillance system showing a white male suspect forcing entry to the basement door.  Anyone with information on the location of the car or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office at 304-357-0169.  Tips can also be submitted through our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us or at tips@kanawhasheriff.us
