The Governor’s Highway Safety Program has provided funding for us to conduct high visibility patrols in areas where most crashes occur on the interstate highways. This week the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office began patrolling I-64 between Dunbar and Institute hill and I-77 north and south of the Edens Fork exit.
We are hopeful these patrols will result in fewer speeders, more conscientious driving, and thus fewer crashes. We encourage all drivers to devote their attention to driving instead of being distracted, and follow the law. We just want everyone to get where they’re going safely.
