There are still people receiving calls as part of a scam. Callers are identifying themselves as clerks of the court or Kanawha County Deputy Sheriffs telling people they’ve missed jury duty and need to pay fines by phone or online to avoid immediate arrest. This is a scam.
No government official will call and demand payment by phone of any fines. Please do not be a victim of this crime. And report any attempts to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office at 304-357-0169.
