On Sunday, August 21, 2016, at around 10:00 p.m., Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Pine Meadows Apartments on Ferrell Road outside of Saint Albans, WV. Callers reported a man in a van firing a gun toward the apartment buildings.
During the investigation they identified the man firing the gun as Brandon Scott Schultz, 31 years old of Saint Albans, WV. A warrant was obtained for him the following day charging him with wanton endangerment, a felony.
On the evening of August 22, 2016 Deputies were again dispatched to Pine Meadows Apartments. Mr. Schultz was spotted in the area with a gun in his hand, according to callers. Deputy Boner was first on scene and spotted Mr. Schultz. Mr. Schultz fled on foot. Responding Deputies searched the area but were not able to find him.
They searched the apartment where Mr. Schultz has been staying and found ammunition among his items. Mr. Schultz was previously convicted of crimes prohibiting him from possessing ammunition or firearms. Separate warrants were obtained for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and fleeing on foot.
Attached is a mugshot of Mr. Schultz taken during an arrest in March 2016. As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Schultz are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
