Michelle Ruth Keeney, 30 years old of Rand, WV, was arrested Thursday, April 20, 2017, on five felony warrants for fraudulent use of an access device (credit card fraud), and two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime (also related to credit card fraud incidents). She was taken to South Central Regional Jail that night.
Ms. Keeney was charged in connection to a credit card fraud case first publicized on January 26, 2017 and a separate incident publicized on April 3, 2017. Deputies Coleman and Alford are still investigating the matters and believe additional subjects may be charged in relation to these crimes.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for information from the public which helped solve these crimes, and to local journalists for helping us get information to the public. As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Ms. Keeney are merely accusations. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
