On Monday, September 2, 2013 the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office STOP Team received a tip regarding drug activity in the 4900 block of Campbell’s Creek Drive. The tip indicated Joey Franklin Washington, 42 years of age of Campbell’s Creek, WV, was selling drugs at his residence. The deputies went to investigate the tip and met with Mr. Washington at the front door. Mr. Washington allowed deputies to search the residence and property.
In the back yard thirteen marijuana plants were located. Some were in plastic pots while others were planted in the ground. All plants were approximately four feet tall. The estimated street value for the seizure is $26,000.00.
Mr. Washington was arrested for possession with intent to deliver. He was booked, and taken to South Central Regional Jail to await arraignment when Magistrate Court reopened following Monday’s holiday. His bond was later set at $1,000.00 cash, which has since been posted.
Attached is a mug shot of Joey Franklin Washington. As is always the case in criminal arrests, the charges against Mr. Washington are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
