Last night at about 2:00 a.m. 911 was dialed by residents in Hansford on Paint Creek Road telling dispatchers of a stabbing.  Metro 911 dispatched Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies and an ambulance from the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority.

When Deputies arrived they learned John Lewis Paris (40 years old of Hansford) and his girlfriend had been arguing at a residence he shares with his parents in Hansford.  Just before the 911 call Mr. Paris entered a bedroom where his girlfriend and his mother were talking.  He struck his girlfriend, then stabbed her twice in the shoulder and once in the hip before fleeing the residence.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment to her injuries which were not life-threatening.  A warrant has been signed for Mr. Paris charging him with malicious wounding.  Searches for him overnight did not result in his arrest.

Mr. Paris is currently wanted and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to report him to 911.  Deputies may also be contacted at 304-357-0169, through email to tips@kanawhasheriff.us, and anonymously through our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us

As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Paris is merely an accusation.  He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.  Attached are mugshots from previous arrests of Mr. Paris in 2011 and 2015, the two most recent images available.
