Around 9:00 p.m. last night Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on Warrior Way near Belle. Both drivers were transported by Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority personnel to an area hospital for treatment.
During the investigation Deputies learned that a one-year old child in one of the vehicles, driven by Andrew Tudor, was not properly restrained at the time of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle had a head injury as a result of the crash.
Mr. Tudor was interviewed at the hospital where signs of impairment were detected. A certified Drug Recognition Expert was called to assist. During the evaluation it was determined he was impaired. He later admitted to taking a 5mg Percocet pill prior to operating the vehicle.
Mr. Tudor, 30 years old of Dry Branch, WV, was charged later today with DUI causing serious bodily injury, a felony; and DUI with a minor, a misdemeanor.
As is always the case in criminal matters the charges against Mr. Tudor are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
