Robert David Masker (61 years old of Marmet, WV) was arrested overnight for malicious wounding and attempted murder.
Last night he called a family member and seemed suicidal. He came out from his room later and surrendered to Marmet PD officers who’d responded. He had minor cuts to his own neck from a possible suicide attempt.
Soon afterward his wife was discovered in the residence bleeding from cuts to her own neck. She indicated her husband was the culprit. She was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Marmet Police Department with the investigation. As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Masker are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
