This week the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the WV Police K9 Conference at Camp Virgil Tate (between the Cross Lanes and Sissonville areas). Dogs, handlers, and trainers from across the state will be learning and performing to meet certification standards and develop new skills all week.
Tomorrow (April 8, 2019) morning at 8:30 a.m. the session will begin with an opening ceremony. Journalists are invited to cover the ceremony and then witness some of the training of the first day.
Anyone with questions may contact Sgt. Humphreys. Handlers will be available for interviews on-site tomorrow, and Sgt. Lively of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office will be coordinating journalists interviews during the opening day.
