Yesterday, April 22, 2019, at approximately 6:30 p.m. a 911 call was placed from the 500 block of Hampshire Drive.  Robert Lee Eads, 36 of Saint Albans, WV, had driven his car on Hampshire Drive prompting residents to yell at him to slow down.

Mr. Eads drove back toward them and attempted to run over people near the road.  He then turned around and came back again at an even higher rate of speed, drove through a chain link fence into a yard, and struck two people with his vehicle causing injuries.

Witnesses removed Mr. Eads from the vehicle and a fight ensued.  He was found a short time later by Deputies in the woods where he briefly fought with them before being handcuffed and taken to an area hospital for treatment to his own injuries.

Mr. Eads will face criminal charges for his conduct upon his release from the hospital.  The pedestrian injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.

As is always the case in criminal matters the charges against Mr. Eads are merely accusations.  He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
