Masked Citizen Captures Breaking and Entering Suspects
Charleston, WV- On Thursday, June 15, 2023 at approximately 1:50 p.m., Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a trespassing call on Crouch Hollow Road in Charleston.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found four individuals on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs, an ATV with four flat tires and Chevrolet pickup truck. Each of the four individuals told deputies they had been inside a cabin on Crouch Hollow Road and as they were leaving a masked armed man approached them. The masked man ordered the female off the ATV and the men out of the truck. The man then tied their hands behind their backs and shot their tires flat before leaving the scene.
The owner of the cabin was on scene and told deputies the cabin is his hunting cabin which he does not reside at full time. The owner went on to tell deputies that his cabin has been broken into several times over the last six week, costing him significant loss. Deputies were able to determine the owner had no involvement in the apprehension of the four suspects and the identity of the masked man is still unknown.
Deputy J.D. Thaxton found property from the cabin in the suspect’s vehicle and subsequently they were all four arrested for breaking and entering. The suspects were identified as Elizabeth Littlejohn, 36-years-old of Malden; James McDaniel Jr., 50-years-old of Charleston; Timothy Justice, 56-years-old of Milton; and Jason Becher, 38-years-old of Charleston.
The four suspects were arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court and a bond was set in the amount of $5000.00 property or 10% cash for each suspect. The four suspects are currently being held at South Central Regional Jail. As always, each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
