On February 25, 2014 Shawn Michael Legg, 32 of Saint Albans, WV, was arrested for Accessory After the Fact to Murder. The charge relates to the murder of Eva Linda Woods. Eva Linda Woods’ daughter, Jessica Woods, has been charged with murder in the matter. Mr. Legg was living with Jessica Woods at the house on West Main Street belonging to Eva Woods. Eva Woods’ body was found in a shed behind that house on Sunday, February 23, 2014.
Jessica Woods alleged she told Shawn Legg about the murder. He then disposed of an item used as a weapon against Eva Woods.
Mr. Legg was arraigned by Magistrate Harshbarger, and received a bond of $45,000.00 property or 10% cash. Mr. Legg was unable to make bond and was taken to South Central Regional Jail.
Although there have been two arrests in the matter detectives are still investigating the murder and events surrounding it. Anonymous tips have been received and reviewed by the detectives during the course of the investigation. As is the case in all criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Legg is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
