As of 5:15 p.m. on August 13, 2014, Erica Brown of the Poca area is still missing. She is 16 years old. Below is the original press release sent by Sergeant S. D. Snuffer of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
We have received several tips from the public, but are still searching for Ms. Brown. Investigators were searching for her late into the night last night, and are still trying to find her. Anyone with information is asked to call 304-357-0169. We will also accept tips on our website, www.kanawhasheriff.us.
The detectives are very appreciative of journalist and media outlets for their efforts to publicize Ms. Brown’s disappearance.

On Sunday, August 10, 2014, Deputy Yost was dispatched to the Cross Lanes area to investigate a report of a missing juvenile. 16 year old Erica Brown was discovered missing from her residence by her parents when they woke up early Sunday morning. Erica Brown’s parents then contacted 911 to report Erica Brown as missing.
Mr. Brown was not certain as to what Erica Brown was wearing when she left the residence, however he described her as 5’01” tall, about 100 lbs, with sandy blonde long hair.
