On April 3, 2015 at 3:30 a.m. a roll-over crash with injuries was reported at the 19 mile marker of I-79 in Clendenin. Corporal Shipman of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched and investigated the incident.
The crash occurred as Kevin Foster was traveling south and fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle rolled over at least three times. The debris field was 2/10 of a mile long. The vehicle contained eight people, two adults and six children.
Mrs. Foster was partially ejected from the crash and sustained critical injuries. The six children, between ages eight months and eight years old were also in the SUV. They sustained minor injuries. All children were properly strapped in car seats and properly used seat belts.
Everyone was transported by ambulance to area hospitals. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office will not likely distribute an update on the conditions of the injured occupants.
