On the morning of Monday, June 29, 2015 Metro 911 received a burglary complaint. Corporal J. T. Snyder of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to investigate. The family of residents of a house on Frederick Drive in Cross Lanes said someone broke in while their relatives were out of town on vacation. The burglary occurred on June 28, 2015.
The victims have surveillance cameras inside the house which they can monitor and review from their cell phones. They saw a man enter the house through the front door. The suspect used a key to unlock the door. One of the family members said her key to that door was missing from her key ring. Prescription medications were missing from the master bathroom.
The victim returned from vacation to meet with Corporal Snyder and others to view the video that same day. The family member missing a key recognized the suspect as Jacob Wade (21 years old of Cross Lanes, WV), her daughter’s boyfriend.
Corporal Snyder located Jacob Wade at Urgent Care in Cross Lanes. He explained his reason for the visit and conducted an interview. Corporal Snyder located the stolen prescription medications in Mr. Wade’s pockets.
Mr. Wade was arrested for daytime burglary and charged with daytime burglary, a felony. Magistrate Shelton arraigned Mr. Wade and set his bond at $3,500.00 cash or 10% property. Mr. Wade was then taken to South Central Regional Jail.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Wade is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Attached is a mug shot taken during his June 29, 2015 arrest.
