The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the shooting in Nitro this morning. Evidence was collected and statements taken. The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has monitored the investigation, and is staying apprised of the status.
The officer involved is currently on administrative leave in accordance with the policies and procedures of Nitro Police Department. That agency will release the name of the officer involved.
The adult female passenger in the car during the incident was Tia Streater (25 years old of Charleston, WV). She was arrested and charged with simple possession of a controlled substance following the incident. Attached is her mug shot from this morning’s arrest.
The vehicle was improperly registered. Also, the vehicle was not on file with the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles.
No decision has been announced regarding charges Mr. Davis may face following his release from the hospital.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Ms. Streater is merely an accusation. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
