Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2015 a robbery was reported on the parking lot of the Go-Mart in Elkview on Frame Road. A forty-five year old woman dialed 911 to report the incident in which a man fought her and stole her purse after she walked out of the store and was making her way to her car.
Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded and investigated the matter. The woman described a thinly built, white male about 5’7” tall in a plaid jacket trying to steal her purse. She fought with him. During the fight he knocked her to the ground. He was then able to steal her purse and flee in a silver Jeep (unknown model).
The closest surveillance camera was inoperable, but other cameras recorded parts of the incident. The video is being reviewed by investigators, but is not yet available for release. The investigation is active.
