On July 26, 2016 at 11:00 p.m. Deputy J. L. Miller of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a reported missing juvenile. During the course of his investigation it was learned thirteen year old Hunter Ross Smith (5’0", 100 pounds, white male, brown hair, brown eyes) and seven year old Ryder Lee Smith (3’8", 50 pounds, white male, sandy hair, brown eyes) were possibly abducted by their mother.
Their mother, Jennifer Renee Smith (33 of Charleston), does not have custody of the children. Their grandmother allowed the mother to take the boys for an overnight visit Saturday, July 23. The boys were not returned the following morning and no one has heard from them since.
