On Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. there will be a press conference at Elkview Middle School in the auditorium. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Kanawha County Commission, and Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority will be hosted by Kanawha County Schools to announce Operation GPA 2016/17.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has several full-time school resource officers, but also conducts random patrols at area schools to dissuade violence and develop relationships with students, their parents, and the staff at the schools. Please join us as we describe the resuming program. Break-out interviews will be conducted after the speakers conclude. We plan on having several emergency vehicles in front of the building to provide photo/video opportunities for multimedia journalists, as well.
