Join the Voices for Recovery: Our Families, Our Stories, Our Recovery this week. The Kanawha County Drug Court, Prestera Mental Health Center, Partnership of African American Churches, & Recovery Point Point Charleston will observe National Recovery Month at Shawnee Park, Dunbar September 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
National Recovery Month is a national observation sponsored by SAMHSA, within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The observance raises awareness of mental and/or substance use disorders, celebrates individuals in long-term recovery, and acknowledges the work of prevention, treatment, and recovery support services. Our message is this: behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover. Please join us as we celebrate the lives of recoverees and bring awareness to those still recovering.
