On November 6, 2016 at approximately 4:40 p.m. a man called 911 reporting he interrupted a burglary at his neighbor’s house. The caller said he saw the burglary suspects in his neighbor’s house and confronted them. At least one of them had a pistol. During the confrontation the neighbor shot the suspect’s vehicle striking the rear glass and a tire before they fled.
Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded and began investigating. They developed a lead for possible suspects and located Steven Lee Rose, Jr. (31 of Charleston, WV), at his residence on Meadowbrook Drive. With him were two others, an 18 year old male who had been grazed by one of the bullets fired at the scene of the burglary, and a 20 year old female who complained of back pain but was not struck by a bullet. Those two were taken to an area hospital to be examined and/or treated.
Search warrants were executed and corroborating evidence was located. Mr. Rose was arrested, charged with burglary. The investigation continues. As is always the case in a criminal matter the charge against Mr. Rose is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Attached is a mug shot taken during his arrest on November 6, 2016.
