On November 11, 2016 at approximately 11:17 a.m. a 911 call was received at Metro 911 reporting someone had been shot on Mountaineer Heights Drive in Quick, WV. The victim was a 21 year old male who said he’d been shot in the arm. Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the scene. When they arrived they found the alleged shooter, Jimmie Holley (60 years old of Quick), was still in the area and spoke with them.
Mr. Holley lives near where several men were shooting rifles. He said they were scaring his livestock and animals, and he went to confront them. The others, who were not on his property and not breaking any laws, continued firing their rifles. Mr. Holley fired a 9mm pistol into the air but toward the group. One bullet struck the 21 year old man, and 911 was then called.
Mr. Holley was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment. As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Holley is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
