Monday night at 8:00 pm, Sgt. B.E. Borchers was dispatched to CAMC Memorial Emergency Room after Brittany Huddleston, age 23 of St. Albans walked in with a small wound to the back of her head.
Huddleston reported she was outside tending to her young child at the Riverfront Mobile Home Park in St. Albans when she felt a sudden impact to back of her head. She first thought a rock had somehow struck her. Huddleston then discovered her head was bleeding and a small object was lodged under the skin.
Family members drove her to the CAMC Memorial Emergency Room where the object was removed and appeared consistent with a pellet from an air style rifle.
The victim did not hear gunshots, nor other pellets striking close to her or her six year old son. The investigation is ongoing and now being conducted by the Kanawha Bureau of Investigation.
