Last night’s shooting in Eskdale has resulted in the arrest of Gary Murphy (27 years old of Eskdale, WV). Mr. Murphy is the shooter and was charged with first degree murder of Joey Rose (37 of Cabin Creek, WV).
Mr. Murphy and two others confronted Mr. Rose on the roadway regarding a recent, ongoing disagreement. During the confrontation Mr. Murphy shot Mr. Rose.
Mr. Rose’s body will be examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The investigation is continuing.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charge against Mr. Murphy is merely an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
