On the evening of October 14, 2019 Kanawha County Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched to a hit and run on Frame Road in the Elkview area in which a pedestrian was struck and injured. The striking vehicle left the scene.
This week detectives working the case were contacted by the driver who identified herself. She said she believed she struck an animal but her car was still functioning, so she continued driving.
The case is still under investigation, but when it is concluded it will be reviewed by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to determine what, if any, charges are appropriate. No update is available on the condition of the person struck, and the names of those involved will not be released at this time.
