Last night just after 11:00 p.m. a shooting was reported to Metro 911.  Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene in the 5200 block of Jonquil Drive, Malden, WV.  The shooter shot from a vehicle, then fled in a silver car with a North Carolina license plate.

One 28 year old female was shot in the leg and ultimately transported to an area hospital for treatment.  The injuries were not believed to be life threatening.  An adult male and a five year old child were near the victim when she was shot.

Detectives were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.  It was determined the shooter was known to the subjects who lived there.

Charleston Police Department officers located the suspect vehicle later in the night.  Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to that traffic stop, as well.

They later arrested Bradley David Williams, 21 years old of Jacksonville, NC.  He was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment and one count of malicious wounding, all felonies.

Attached is a mugshot taken during Mr. Williams’ arrest last night.  As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Williams are merely accusations.  He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The investigation into the matter is continuing, particularly more interviews with those present.  Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact our office at 304-357-0169, message us on Facebook, email us at tips@kanawhashseriff.us, or anonymously send us information through our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
