He was ordered to remain still but fled the area. The car he was next to fled, also, resulting in a pursuit through Cross Lanes, Nitro, and Dunbar ending in a crash after spike strips were used to deflate the tires.
The driver was apprehended, and identified as Amanda Renee Taylor, 43 of Saint Albans, WV. She was ultimately charged with four counts of armed robbery, accessory before the fact, and fleeing.
A car jacking occurred later that morning in Dunbar, and may be related to the robbery.
A person of interest in the robbery and car jacking was spotted after 7:00 a.m. in Sissonville, WV. That man, identified as Timothy Lee Walding, Jr. (40 years old of Saint Albans, WV) fled in a vehicle, crashed, then fled on foot. He was seen running with a handgun in his hand.
Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office searched the area extensively for him throughout much of Sunday. Our K9 units assisted, as did a helicopter from the West Virginia State Police. Mr. Wandling was not found.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued charging him with fleeing from an officer. He has not been charged with any other crimes at this time.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911. We can also receive tips on Facebook, by email at tips@kanawhasheriff.us, and anonymously through our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
As is always the case in criminal matters the charges against Ms. Taylor and Mr. Wandling are merely accusations. Each is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
