Today, June 4, 2014, a citizen spotted Charles “Ricky” Lewis at Charleston Town Center Mall, and approached an off-duty Deputy Sheriff with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. That citizen said he saw Charles Lewis in the mall, and remembered seeing him on television the previous night.
The Deputy was directed to Mr. Lewis, found him, and arrested him. Mr. Lewis was charged with three counts of violation of a protective order (misdemeanors), sexual assault in the first degree (felony), and sexual abuse by a parent/guardian (felony). Magistrate Joe Shelton set a bond of $100,000.00 cash. Mr. Lewis will be transported to South Central Regional Jail in lieu of bail.
As is always the case in criminal matters, the charges against Mr. Lewis are merely accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
