> On August 31, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m. a couple riding an ATV along Reamer Road saw something suspicious. They were searching for a lost dog in the area. While looking at a creek from a bridge they saw what they believed were animal remains. When they drove to the creek to check more closely they found what they believed were human remains and dialed 911.

> Metro 911 dispatched a Deputy with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant J. Haynes responded and concurred the remains appeared to be human.

> Detectives of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office are now on scene recovering the remains. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of West Virginia has also sent a death investigator to assist. An investigation is underway.

> The remains are located about three miles south of Clendenin on Reamer Road. Anyone with information on the remains is asked to call 304-357-0169, or submit a tip on our website at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
