On January 24, 2016 a series of crimes were committed in Cross Lanes, WV. They events began in Putnam County when a man stole a car. He drove into Kanawha County in the stolen vehicle and car-jacked at gunpoint another vehicle, a Ford Edge, at Waycross Drive and Big Tyler Road.
He then stole another car at gunpoint. That car was occupied by a man and his thirteen year old son. That vehicle, a Chevrolet S-10, was stolen on Fisher’s Branch Road. While he had possession of that vehicle the suspect broke into a residence on Dalewood Drive in Cross Lanes. The S-10 was then found abandoned near Dorsey Stables on Rocky Fork Road.
Detectives have leads in the case and are still investigating the crimes. They are working with several other local agencies, including the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
