Attached is a copy of the criminal complaint charging Mrs. Rivera this weekend. I will speak to a prosecutor and administrators at the 911 center about 911 call and radio traffic recordings. They may be released later this week.
Other items, such as the case report, witness statement documents and recordings, videos, and photographs, will not be released by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office until all criminal proceedings are concluded, per a standard arrangement with the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Releasing those materials may unfairly taint a potential jury pool and are not released without a public safety necessity, which does not include general interest.
